Craft yourself a low stress little Christmas

In this 3 part series we're looking at a few fun and relatively quick festive makes, so you can enjoy some crafty goodness over the season without getting overwhelmed.

Despite best intentions, do you find it's suddenly half way through December before you know it? You might have sorted a few things out like ordering the Christmas Turkey (if that's your bag), but otherwise things have kind of crept up on you?

If so, you are in good company, and I for one find myself in this situation every year! It can all seem overwhelming, but doesn’t have to be - you can choose not to get too caught up in the festive hamster wheel. I love the winter festive season, but we can all too easily place a lot of unnecessary pressure on ourselves trying to meet unrealistic expectations, instead of just having a good time.

Over the years I’ve found the best policy is to KEEP THINGS SIMPLE and I cannot over stress this enough! This will leave more mental space and energy to have a more enjoyable and meaningful time with your loved ones.

If you love to make stuff then its important you have some fun creative play too time - so make sure you take some time for enjoying some quick festive makes for yourself or as gifts to the loved ones who actually appreciate handmade.

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing either - be real about how much time you have or want to dedicate to this so it still feels fun. You don’t have to slog away making your xmas completely handmade - it’s ok to buy some stuff and keep the handmade for your nearest and dearest and those who are really going to appreciate your creations.

Part 1: Gift Knits

If you're a keen yarnstress who loves to knit for gifting, then you've no time to waste! Choose a small achievable project that you will enjoy knitting - this is supposed to be a fun time for you too after all - grab some yarn, and cast on! Here are a few adorable little projects that are available in my free resource library.

My resource library has a number of knitterly goodies which are free to the lovely folk on my email list as a thank you for letting me pop in occasionally to your inbox. Click the button below if you want to join my email list and get access to this.

In part 2 of Fun Festive Makes we'll be taking a little trip down memory lane  with making paper snow flakes.

And in part 3 we still have time to make some simple xmas cards before the last post!
